Note: Instagram's export data can run a day or so behind your live account. Follows or unfollows you did just before requesting an export may not be in it yet, so your numbers here can look one step behind your profile. They catch up in the next export.

Upload your official Instagram data export. Each upload becomes a dated snapshot; snapshots are compared over time to reveal unfollowers, new followers, and who doesn't follow back.

Instagram's export can include accounts that no longer exist (deleted, deactivated or renamed). To get counts that match your profile exactly, paste your current Following list here. Social Signal compares it with the export saved on the date you pick and lets you hide the accounts that are gone and thus no longer in your following list.

Note: the collected list can contain a few more usernames than you actually follow (for example your own handle). This is harmless: the comparison only looks for accounts that are in your export but missing from your live list, so these extras are simply ignored and never affect the result.

Instagram's export can keep listing accounts you follow that no longer exist: deleted, deactivated or renamed. Paste your live Following list from the same day as the export, and any account that is in the export but missing from your live list is shown so you can hide it. Your following count then matches your profile.
